Pac Ave Records Completes Successful 2018 Fire Relief Fund-Raising Project
The 2017-2018 staff of Pac Ave Records (pictured above) recently completed their Rose Gold: Songs for Sonoma fund-raising project by making the donation of $3,333.25 to the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Relief Foundation. The benefit nine-song, student performed and produced CD, along with a number of other special items including hand-made commemorative Rose Gold tee shirts, were sent as "thank you" perks to the nearly 50 supporters. The funds will aid students at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) who lost their homes in the fall 2017 Sonoma County fires, replacing much needed books, bicycles and computers lost in the fires.

The staff exceeded their $3000 goal using the crowd-funding platform, IndieGoGo. Last August, Pac Ave staff member, Joe DeMars '18, who grew up near SRJC in Petaluma, CA, presented the check on behalf of Pac Ave Records to the Foundation managing the fire relief grant program at Santa Rosa Junior College. The funds will be used to continue the grant program and aid students in ongoing recovery efforts.

Although the Rose Gold: Songs for Sonoma campaign has ended, the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Relief Fund is still in fund raising mode. Additional donations may be made at

Pac Ave Records

Pac Ave Records is a student run music label at the University of the Pacific, under the direction of Keith Hatschek. The label is part of a music management curriculum which gives students a hands-on experience while building their resumé.

Initially students created a label and released an album of their choice under the guidance of faculty during the course of one semester. The students were the staff of the label and learned through first-hand experience what it took to manage an independent label.

Pac Ave Records was created in the spring of 2012 as the first permanent record label at Pacific. Their first commercial release in 2012 was Origins. It allowed the label to gain connections and goodwill within the industry. The label runs as a school course with a new set of students each semester and a clear syllabus. However, students now have pre-existing material to work with as well as a permanent faculty adviser, Keith Hatschek.

Pac Ave Records serves the Pacific community and is proud to commercially release artists from both within and outside the Pacific family. Check out the Facebook page for information about the current project.
