Brian Goldsmith
Dr. Goldsmith earned a medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS) in 1989. He completed an internal medicine internship at Letterman Army Medical Center in 1989-90, followed by a residency in Radiation Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco in 1990-93. He is board-certified in Radiation Oncology and earned sub-specialty board certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine in 2012. Additionally, he has served as a Flight Surgeon in the US Army, first with the 3rd Battalion, 140th Aviation Regiment from 2013 to 2016, and subsequently as the 40th Combat Aviation Brigade Surgeon from 2016 to 2024.
Dr. Goldsmith has been elected to the National Mathematics and Engineering Honor Societies, and he is a Fellow of the American College of Radiology. His exceptionally meritorious military service has been recognized with the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Knighthood of the Order of Saint Michael.
Dr. Goldsmith values professional service to patients and providers. He served as the Managing Editor of the American College of Radiology Journal Advisor from 1995 to 2024 and as Marshall Medical Center’s Chief Medical Officer from 2019 to 2026. Dr. Goldsmith has numerous professional publications and presentations focused on the areas of Leadership, Medical Informatics, Education, and Central Nervous System Tumors.
He enjoys spending time with his family, outrigger paddling, and flying his plane in his free time.
