Danielle Shipes
A proud 2018 graduate of University of the Pacific, Danielle Shipes earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology and sociology with a minor in ethnic studies. Today, she serves as the Assistant Director of Admissions and Diversity Initiatives within the JD Admissions Office at the University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law.
Starting as an Admissions Counselor, Shipes quickly became a driving force in student outreach—providing personalized counseling to prospective and admitted applicants, orchestrating information sessions to large-scale yield events and overseeing recruitment and outreach initiatives. Her diversity work has evolved from managing the Center for Inclusion and Diversity (CID) to spearheading pathway programs that increase access to legal education for underrepresented communities.
Before transitioning into higher education, Shipes spent five years in the mental health field with Pacific’s nonprofit Community Re-Entry Program, supporting individuals with Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD and related conditions. She also worked as a Behavior Technician with Gateway Learning Group, helping children on the spectrum build communication and behavioral skills. Her commitment to youth empowerment was further reflected in her role as an AmeriCorps Lead with the Greater Valley Conservation Corps, where she guided at-risk youth through green-job training and workforce development.
Shipes’ multidisciplinary background informs a student-centered approach rooted in empathy, equity and impact.
