Jonathan Toccoli
Dr. Jonathan Toccoli is an educator and leader dedicated to the success and well being of students and faculty. A Northern California native, he is currently Assistant Professor of Leadership and Innovation at Benerd College. He has held several administrative roles at Pacific including Director of Faculty Development and Director of Accreditation and Assessment for Benerd College. Prior to coming to Pacific, he served as Vice Principal at Jim Elliot High School, where he led the school to International Baccalaureate candidacy. He is currently a Faculty Fellow for the Pacific Center for Teaching and Learning.
After serving as a research assistant at the Pullias Center (USC) on the Promoting At-Promise Student Success project (pass.pullias.usc.edu), he has continued a research agenda focused on faculty experiences and teaching, especially focusing on VITAL (visiting, instructor, teaching, adjunct, and lecturer) faculty. His work has been featured in American Behavioral Scientist, Journal of First-Year Experience and Student Transitions, and Journal of the American Academy of Special Education Professionals. He presents his research at ASHE and AERA, and has served as Secretary/Treasurer (2021-2023) as well as Assistant SIG Chair (2023-2024) for the Faculty Teaching, Evaluation, and Development SIG for AERA, for which he has been elected as Assistant Program Chair (2025-2026).
