Kalina Zhong joined McGeorge in June 2026 as a Research and Instructional Services Librarian in a half-time role. In this position, Kalina provides research support services for faculty and students, delivers legal research instruction, and creates and maintains legal research guides. 
 
Originally from Wisconsin, Kalina earned her JD from UCLA School of Law and her Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from San José State University. She is excited to begin her career in law librarianship at McGeorge. Prior to attending library school, Kalina practiced at Alston & Bird in both San Francisco and Los Angeles, where she focused on land use and environmental litigation. 
 
Outside of work, Kalina is an avid crafter with a particular passion for knitting, crochet, and cross-stitch, and she enjoys reading nonfiction. In her free time, she can often be found taking long walks, watching tennis and baseball—especially her hometown Milwaukee Brewers—and exploring Sacramento’s food scene and natural beauty.
