I'm a SF Bay Area native and have 30 years of experience in education. I have been a high school teacher, a school-site administrator, worked at the district level, and for an education nonprofit. Since coming to Benerd in 2018, I've created two graduate programs, the Transformative Action in Education Ed.D. and the Leading for Social Justice Master’s in Leadership. I enjoy reading, playing pickleball, and spending time with family and friends.

"Education is the practice of freedom" ~ bell hooks
I have taught a variety of courses — action research, equity leadership, qualitative research. First and foremost, I believe that effective instruction begins with being a critically reflective teacher. We must be willing to examine our own biases and positions of power and privilege in order to create spaces in which we are all simultaneously students and teachers.
