Philippe Vasquez
Philippe Vasquez, MPAS, PA-C, began his journey in medicine as a combat medic EMT. He is an alumnus of the Interservice Physician Assistant Program (IPAP), graduating in 2010 with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of Nebraska. He has also graduated from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College with a focus on Military Science, Leadership, and Operational Art. His clinical experience is in Pain Medicine and Occupational Medicine, as well as in the fields of Military and Aviation Medicine. He transitioned into PA education in 2015 as a clinical preceptor and, since 2023, has served as Principal Faculty at University of the Pacific. His research and scholarly focus have been in infectious disease, specifically the treatment of Plasmodium falciparum.
PA Vasquez has received professional and military recognition for academic achievement, service, and leadership. He is a member of the Physician Assistant Pi Alpha Honor Society, recognizing academic and service excellence. He has been awarded the Order of Military Medical Merit for his contributions to Army Medicine. He has been awarded the Order of St. Maurice for serving with distinction in support of the Infantry. He has also been awarded Meritorious Service Medals, the Air Medal, and Army Commendation Medals, among others.
Outside the clinic and classroom, PA Vasquez loves spending time with his wife and two sons, along with their assortment of pets. His family has been involved in rescue and fostering, including cats and dogs with special needs. He enjoys 49ers football, family movie night, concerts, and travel. He stays active through exercise, running, outdoor activities, and adventure!
