Zoya Laskowski
Zoya Laskowski is an Assistant Professor of Graphic Design (tenure-track) at the University of the Pacific. She is a designer, researcher, and educator whose work bridges graphic design, interaction design, immersive media, and emerging technologies, with a particular emphasis on augmented reality (AR) within communication design.
Her work has received multiple international honors and has been recognized and exhibited by institutions including the Tokyo Type Directors Club, the German National Library, the Kyiv Museum of War, the European Union’s Creative Europe program, and the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art.
Her teaching and research focus on graphic and interaction design, UX/UI, editorial systems, immersive and AR-based experiences, and the integration of emerging technologies into design education. She emphasizes experiential, project-based learning and regularly partners with local businesses, organizations, and real-world clients, enabling students to apply design thinking, branding, and AR technologies in professional and community-centered contexts. Through these collaborations, students develop practical skills while exploring innovative ways to extend physical design into interactive digital experiences.
She is committed to mentoring students, fostering inclusive and innovative learning environments, and connecting academic inquiry with professional practice and meaningful community impact.
