Founded in 1896 as the College of Physicians and Surgeons, University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry has served the San Francisco Bay Area for more than a century. The dental school joined the University of the Pacific in 1962, and in 2004 was named after long-time dean and renowned dental educator Dr. Arthur A. Dugoni. Pacific became the first and only university in the United States or Canada to name its dental school after a current dean.
