Changemakers Series: AI Tools as Efficiency Tools: Demystifying GenAI Uses in Academia
12:00 p.m. - 01:00 p.m.
Artificial intelligence is rapidly shaping higher education—but for many faculty and staff, its uses still feel opaque, overwhelming, or ethically fraught. This session aims to demystify AI for teaching, research, and administrative work by moving beyond hype and fear toward practical understanding. Grounded in real‑world examples, the session invites participants to reflect on their own current uses of AI and to develop new, intentional strategies for using these tools ethically and responsibly. Through a collegial, discussion‑centered format, attendees will have opportunities to ask questions, share experiences, and think together about how AI can be aligned with professional values, institutional responsibilities, and equity‑oriented practices—now and into the future.
