Open Publishing Celebration - $3M+ in Savings
Join us for a special university-wide event to celebrate and learn from faculty pioneers in open education and research!Discover how your colleagues are making education more affordable and research more accessible, and learn how you can leverage powerful university resources to do the same. This showcase event will feature presentations from faculty who are leading the way in two key areas:Open Educational Resources (OER): Hear from faculty members who have successfully created and implemented their own OER materials using the LibreTexts publishing platform. This presentation will include a demo of their work and a discussion on the process, the choice of platform, and the impact on student savings and engagement. Students from their courses will also share their experiences!Open Access (OA) Publishing: Listen to faculty members who have published multiple articles as Open Access. They will discuss their motivations for choosing OA, their experience using the university library's transformative agreements (which provide Article Processing Charge waivers), and the impact they've seen on their research's global reach and scholarly metrics. This event is a fantastic opportunity for all faculty, staff, and students to learn about the growing OER and OA movements on our campus. Come be inspired and see what's possible!
