He earned a certificate as a dental educator through the American Dental Education Association in 2014 which was part of his master’s degree from University of the Pacific. He is currently an associate professor in the Department of Periodontics at the Dugoni School and serves as the senior clinic coordinator for the Dental Hygiene program. He pursued further training to become an RDHAP and has partnered with many public health organizations including the Community Medical Center where he serves as CEO of the nonprofit organization. Mustafa also served as the first president of the Delta Pacific Dental Hygienists’ Association and as a ADEX examiner and a local anesthesia board committee member.
