Dugoni School Joins in the Season of Giving

December 3, 2019

This holiday season, members of the Dugoni School family are conducting several donation drives to gather items for underserved people across the Bay Area and beyond.

The school’s Employee Volunteer Opportunities Committee (EVOC) is working to give faculty, staff and students the opportunity to support numerous organizations. They include:

  • One Warm Coat
Coats, jackets, vests, scarves, hats and gloves will benefit St. Anthony’s Foundation in San Francisco. This donation drive runs from Monday, Dec. 2 to Wednesday, Dec. 18. The donation drop-off is on the first floor underneath the internal staircase.

  • Children’s Book Project
Holiday Book Drive will benefit the Children’s Book Project (CBP). CBP has given away over 2.7 million children’s books to San Francisco Bay Area children, shelters, schools, daycares, community centers, and beyond. New or gently-used children’s books for ages 3-11 (English, Mandarin/Cantonese, Spanish and/or other languages) are all welcomed. The donation drive runs from Monday, Dec. 2 to Thursday, Dec. 19. Just drop off your books to the CBP book cart on the first floor near the internal staircase.

  • Eyeglasses Donations
Donate your glasses to VSP Global Eyes of Hope. The organization collects eyeglasses and sunglasses that are no longer used. A drop-box is located on the first floor near EVOC’s Giving Tree.

  • Veterans Holiday Cards
This holiday season say Happy Holidays and Thank You to our active military! EVOC will host workshops on Thursday, Dec. 5 and Thursday, Dec. 12 at 1:00 pm in Room 315 for the Dugoni School community to make cards, which will be mailed to members of the military.

The Dugoni School’s student organizations are also organizing holiday drives that include:

  • San Francisco Fire Fighters Toy Drive
The school's Pediatric Dentistry Study Club is hosting its annual holiday toy drive as part of the San Francisco Fire Fighters Toy Drive. New and unwrapped toys can be dropped off in the toy collection barrel on the first floor. Toys can be donated until Dec. 13.

  • St. Anthony Foundation Clothing Drive
The school’s American Student Dental Association (ASDA) chapter is organizing a clothing drive through Dec. 9. Items may be placed in the bins located on the first floor underneath the internal staircase.
