Little Free Library finds new home on Stockton Campus

University of the Pacific’s Little Free Library has a new home on the Stockton Campus. The tiger-striped public bookcase, previously located at Pacific’s Center for Community Involvement (CCI) on Pacific Avenue, is now outside the Human Resources office off Stagg Way.

Pacific and CCI established the university’s Little Free Library in May 2014. Former Stockton City Councilman Moses Zapien and volunteers formed Little Free Library Stockton Association and launched an innovative project to improve access to books in low-literacy neighborhoods in Stockton. Pacific’s Little Free Library represents the university’s commitment to community outreach and childhood literacy in the city.

The concept of the Little Free Library is simple: Take a book, return a book. Pacific’s Little Free Library offers the university community a way to share their favorite books from childhood or books that teach, intrigue and engage. This Little Free Library belongs to everybody, and everyone can help keep this collection stocked with good reading material—please keep in mind the campus audiences.
