Masking on Sacramento Campus strongly encouraged

Dear Pacificans,

In response to rising levels of COVID-19 transmission in Sacramento County, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has ranked the county’s COVID-19 Community level “high” and recommends wearing masks indoors in public and on public transportation. Read more about the CDC ranking and recommendations.

Based on the CDC’s recommendation, University of the Pacific’s COVID-19 Council strongly encourages Sacramento Campus students, faculty, staff and visitors to wear masks in indoor settings.

The Sacramento Campus testing center (located in Halbert Hall) will be open daily, with extended hours on Thursday (opening at 7 a.m.).

If you are symptomatic, please test before coming to campus and—if positive—do not come to campus, but follow these isolation and quarantine guidelines.

As a reminder, Pacific continues to require all students and employees to be fully vaccinated and to receive a COVID-19 vaccine booster as soon as you are eligible.Staying up to date with your COVID-19 vaccines is very important to protect against serious illness and hospitalization.

Visit Pacific’s COVID-19 website for current requirements and updates.

Sincerely,
