University of Pacific McGeorge School of Law Professor Andrew Jurs has been asked to join as the newest co-author on a seminal evidence treatise, McCormick on Evidence.  

McCormick on Evidence is a nationally known book used by practitioners, judges, and researchers on a wide variety of topics. Jurs is the co-author who will be responsible for the sections in the book covering Expert Evidence, Relevance, and Propensity.  

"McCormick on Evidence has been an iconic treatise for judges, lawyers, and students for generations, and I am thrilled at the chance to join the small group of authors to continue this long-standing tradition of excellence," Jurs said. "The group of authors are all experts in evidence, dedicated to applying their extensive practical and academic experience to help guide researchers on a variety of cutting-edge litigation topics, and I look forward to working with them.” 

His research agenda investigates the management and evaluation of expert evidence in the judicial system using an empirical approach. In his 2019 publication Expert Evidence, Jurs describes the use of expert witnesses in court. 

Jurs joined the McGeorge School of Law faculty in 2024 as the Robert Eglet Evidence Law Endowed Chair and a Professor of Law. He teaches courses on Expert Evidence, Evidence, Criminal Procedure, and Criminal Law.
