January 13, 2020

U.S. News & World Report has released its annual list of best jobs, and once again, dentistry is near the top, and other healthcare-related careers also rank highly.

On the overall 100 top jobs list, dentistry was No. 2, physician assistant was No. 3, orthodontist was No. 4 and oral and maxillofacial surgeon was No. 9. Dental hygienist was No. 24, prosthodontist was No. 56 and dental assistant was No. 66.

The publication uses U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics' data to identify jobs with the greatest hiring demand, and then scores them based on a set of criteria that includes 10-year growth volume, 10-year growth percentage, median salary, employment rate, future job prospects, stress level and work-life balance.
