Pacific simplifies wireless internet access for guests

Pacific simplifies wireless internet access for guests

To improve university guests’ experience, Pacific Technology is simplifying the way users connect to the “Pacific_Guest” wireless network. This includes all campus guests, including prospective students, families, alumni and clinic patients.

Beginning Feb. 14, guests will no longer need to obtain a wireless password and register for a guest account. Instead, they will be able to simply read Pacific’s applicable policies and select “Accept & Continue” access the internet.

Much like any guest network you would encounter in a public setting, the guest wireless internet access does not provide privacy or security. Therefore, faculty, staff, students and university affiliates with a PacificNet ID should be careful to only use the secure PacificNet wireless network.

Guest access will be granted in 12-hour increments. After 12 hours, guests will have to return to the PacificNet_Guest page and again opt to “Accept & Continue.”
