Pacific welcomes incoming class beginning Aug. 20

Pacific welcomes incoming class beginning Aug. 20

As you know, next week will be a busy week with multiple Orientations, culminating in the Week of Welcome — WoW!

Orientation leaders, faculty and staff will greet our new Pacificans and introduce them to life on campus, including classes, resources and the many exciting opportunities for involvement.

Here are some important details and ways you can help this be a successful welcome to our incoming students:

Transfer Orientation

  • Monday, Aug. 20
  • Over 100 new students and 50 parents and family members

Freshman/First Year Orientation

  • Tuesday and Wednesday, Aug. 21–22
  • Nearly 600 new students and over 260 parents and family members

WoW - Week of Welcome

  • Wednesday, Aug. 21 – Sunday, Aug. 26

We'd like to share with you several ways you can help us welcome our newest students and their families.

  • Pacific Attire — If your department approves, we'd love to have the entire campus "sporting" Pacific attire during the days of orientation and WoW, and please wear your nametags. When you are out and about be sure to say "hi!" to our new students and family members, stop and chat or just flash a smile! They'll begin to feel a part of the family immediately.

  • Parking Impacted — While we have instructed our new students and their families to park in "B" lots, sometimes they are not aware of the difference between these areas. If you see a car parked in "A" during orientation next week, please be understanding, even if you have to walk a bit farther. We want our new students and families to have the best first experience on campus as possible.
