Cellist Brady Anderson joins the faculty at University of the Pacific’s Conservatory of Music in a visiting capacity for 2026-27. Assistant Professor of Practice DoYeon Kim is currently on leave and plans to arrive at Pacific in the 2027-28 academic year. 

Anderson is a highly acclaimed cellist and pedagogue. At the age of fifteen, he made a solo debut performing Joseph Haydn's Cello Concerto in C major, launching a musical journey that includes numerous prizes from the Music Teachers National Association and the American String Teachers Association among others.  

Anderson is the executive director of the Benicia Chamber Players, as well as the cellist and a founding member of the Verve Trio. He has performed in Germany, Austria, Czechia, Hungary, Greece, Canada, Slovakia and throughout the United States. He studied chamber music with Menahem Pressler, Jorja Fleezanis and members of the Pacifica String Quartet, Juilliard String Quartet, JACK Quartet and Miró Quartet.  

As a dedicated educator, Anderson maintains a private cello studio in San Ramon, California, with more than 40 students. In recent years, his students have won dozens of prizes in various competitions and have performed with many of California's most mature youth orchestras.  

Anderson earned a Master of Music in cello performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he was awarded the Janos Starker Scholarship, and a Bachelor of Art in music from the University of California, Berkeley. He studied with Irene Sharp, Jonathan Koh and Peter Stumpf.
