Prep work begins on Stockton Campus solar shade project

Prep work begins on Stockton Campus solar shade project

Preliminary work began this week on preparing parking lots where the university plans to erect solar shades. This is part of the pre-planning phase of the project, which was approved by the Pacific Board of Regents last February.

This week, Pacific Physical Plant staff and the engineering contractor have located and marked utilities and identified parking lot spaces where drilling will occur for taking soil samples. Between four and six spaces will be blocked off to accommodate equipment in each area where drilling will occur. Parking will be impacted on specified lots only on the day work is being carried out. Below is a list of the lots affected and the dates work will be done:

  • Lot 1 adjacent to the Tennis Courts - Monday, Feb. 4
  • Lot 2 by Knoles Field and Kjeldsen Pool - Tuesday, Feb. 5
  • Lot 7 behind the fraternity and sorority houses - Wednesday, Feb. 6
  • Lot 9 behind the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences - Thursday, Feb. 7

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we begin this work.
