More than 300 students and alumni met with employers to explore career and internship opportunities in a wide range of industries during the annual spring Internship and Career Fair.

Over 60 businesses representing a broad spectrum of industries were recruiting on campus Feb. 26 at the Pacific Career Resource Center's Spring Internship and Career Fair. The event brought out more than 300 Pacific students and alumni to connect with prospective employers to learn about career and internship opportunities.

Companies like Pepsi Co., the Sacramento Kings and Harrah's Casino were among those recruiting for a variety of positions from marketing to engineering, making this a beneficial event for students in all majors.  

"The Career Fair is a true blessing to have as a resource on campus," said business administration major Josue Serrano '19. "Every semester, I prepare for the Career Fair and connect with many different employers. Some employers even know me by name. Over the past two semesters, my communication skills and elevator pitch have improved so much. Now as graduation approaches, it is time to seal the deal."  

Career Fairs are not only for seniors to find jobs, but for students from all grade levels to learn about the employers where they may want to seek internships or long-term employment. Students can make an appointment with a career advisor beforehand to prep for the career fair, practice their elevator pitch, learn what to bring to a career fair and how to start a conversation with a recruiter.

On Feb. 12, the School of Engineering and Computer Science held a career fair for students pursuing cooperative internships or jobs in those fields. Some 160 engineering and computer science students spoke with recruiters from 42 different companies, including Intel, Nvida, Hewlett Packard and Applied Aerospace Structures Corp. Career fairs are held in the fall and spring, including the Eberhardt School of Business Meet the Firms event targeting students pursuing business-related career paths.

Career fairs are just one of the many services available from Pacific's Career Resource Center. Help with writing resumes, mock interviews, etiquette dinners, workshops, and the career catwalk ─ a fashion show featuring business attire ─ are some of the additional resources available to help prepare students to pursue their passion and prepare for a rewarding and successful career after graduation.
