Students from Pac Ave Records Complete a Successful Fire Relief Fundraising Project

The 2017-2018 staff of Pac Ave Records recently completed their successful Rose Gold: Songs for Sonoma fundraising project. They collected $3,333.25 for the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Relief Foundation. The funds will aid students at Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) who lost their homes in the fall 2017 Sonoma County fires by helping to replace much needed books, bicycles and computers.

Pac Ave Records, University of the Pacific's student-run record label, on April 13, 2018, released "Rose Gold: Songs for Sonoma," a compilation album comprised of performances by student artists, to aid victims of October 2017 fires in Sonoma County, including a Pac Ave artist. The students exceeded their $3,000 goal using a crowd-funding platform, IndieGoGo. Nearly 50 supporters of the campaign received nine-song albums along with a number of other special items such as hand-made commemorative Rose Gold t-shirts.

In August of 2018, Joe DeMars '18, who grew up near SRJC in Petaluma, CA, presented the check on behalf of Pac Ave Records to the Foundation represented by Breanne Beseda, Director of Marketing & Communications at Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation.

Although the Rose Gold: Songs for Sonoma campaign has ended, the Santa Rosa Junior College Fire Relief Fund is still in need of funds to continue their grant program and aid students in ongoing recovery efforts. Additional donations can be made at https://santarosajc.ejoinme.org/firerelief.
