WSCUC concludes Pacific reaccreditation site visit

WSCUC concludes Pacific reaccreditation site visit

University of the Pacific hosted its final reaccreditation site visit by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) site team March 5-7 on the Stockton Campus. Members of the accreditation team also visited the San Francisco Campus Jan. 31 and the Sacramento Campus Feb. 13.

During the Stockton visit, the WSCUC team heard from members of the university community about their experiences at Pacific through feedback provided via meetings, open sessions and confidential email comments. At the conclusion of its visit, the accreditation team held an exit meeting with the university community where they reported their preliminary commendations and recommendations. An audio recording of the meeting is available on the WSCUC/Reaccreditation SharePoint site (note that, due to technical issues, the beginning of the recording is missing).

The members of Pacific's reaccreditation steering committee would like to thank the university community—faculty, staff, students, alumni and regents—for their support throughout the nearly three-year process, including preparing our institutional report, welcoming the WSCUC site team during their visits and providing feedback. These efforts have helped convey Pacific's educational experience to our reaccrediting body.

Final steps in the reaccreditation process include the WSCUC site team completing its report by May. The WASC Senior Commission will then take action on the report at the end of June and issue its Action Letter to Pacific in July. Once the Action Letter is issued, WSCUC will make the team's final report and the Commission Action Letter available to the public.
