In August 2022, University of the Pacific transitioned to virtual parking permits for both long-term and hourly parking to modernize operations and provide a better experience for students, employees and visitors (Physical decals will no longer be issued). Details for purchasing permits are below.

Parking lot permits are enforced Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Stockton Campus and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Sacramento Campus year-round.  Parking Lots are designated as A, B or C. Vehicles without the correct parking permit may be cited.

Visitors to the campus between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays must purchase a temporary parking permit for their vehicle through the Passport Parking app. Visitors can find an open parking spot in “A”, “B”, or “C” lots. Posted signage will indicate these mobile payment zones and how to purchase hourly parking.

Free parking for prospective students and their families may be arranged through the Office of Admission on either campus, or through the Welcome Center located at the base of Burns Tower.

Parking Permit Terms & Conditions

To purchase a permit, each individual must agree to the following:

  • Student permits are on sale year round.  August is a grace period to purchase permits and enforcement begins September 1.
  • Parking permits are purchased exclusively online through the link found below.
  • Permits are valid only when used by purchaser.
  • There are no refunds, upgrades or downgrades for purchased parking permits. All purchases are final.

To purchase a permit, each individual must agree to the following:

  • Faculty/Staff parking permits are on sale year round.  August is a grace period to purchase permits and enforcement begins September 1.Parking permits are purchased exclusively online through the link found below.
  • Permits are valid only when used by purchaser. Under no circumstance may an employee purchase an 'A' permit and allow a child or student for use on campus.
  • Pacific has a pre tax payroll deduction option for benefit eligible employees to pay for parking:
    • The payroll deduction is purchased on the same parking portal but is only available for purchase in late July and early August.
  • There are no refunds, upgrades or downgrades for purchased parking permits. All purchases are final.

To purchase a permit, each individual must agree to the following:

  • Multiple license plates may be entered for one permit but only one vehicle is allowed on campus each day. When two or more vehicles registered to the same permit are located on campus in the same day all vehicles will be cited.
  • A parking permit does not guarantee a parking space, but allows parking if a space is available. Each vehicle operator is responsible for finding legal space in the parking area designated by the permit they possess. Lack of space is not a valid excuse for violating any parking regulation. Purchaser will obey all posted parking and traffic signs on campus at all times.
  • All motor vehicles are brought onto the university grounds at the owner's risk and the university undertakes no responsibility for their safety or security. The university is not responsible for loss or damage to property arising from bringing a motor vehicle onto any university grounds.
  • Front and rear license plates must be displayed on each vehicle as required by the California Vehicle Code. Vehicles without a license will be cited.
  • Faculty, staff and students may only purchase one annual parking permit per academic year.
  • You will be asked to enter at least one license plate number when purchasing a permit. Please have ready the license plate numbers of all vehicles you may drive to campus during the year. Updates to license plate numbers on file can be updated through the purchaser’s Passport account.

  • Appropriate lot permit required during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. After business hours no permit is required and spaces are available to the public.
  • Plug to park. Car should be plugged in while parked.
  • Park 4 hours max. Move car after 4 hours or risk citation and parking fees.
  • Pay $0.25/kWh to charge.
  • Once charging is complete, you have a 2 hour grace period to move your car. After that a parking fee of $2/hour is charged. Prior to first use set up free ChargePoint account to activate charging and pay for service.

  • Stalls are first come, first serve and an available stall is not guaranteed.
  • Return plug to bollard for proper storage.
  • Do not use station if not in working order.
  • Report payment and general issues to ChargePoint. If there is an immediate safety hazard report issue to Public Safety or Facilities.
