Your Step-by-Step Guide to Financial Aid at Pacific

Navigating the financial aid process can feel overwhelming, but we're here to help make it as smooth as possible. Whether you're a prospective or current student, this guide will walk you through the essential steps to apply for financial aid at Pacific. From completing the FAFSA to exploring scholarships, we've outlined everything you need to know to fund your education and confidently start your journey.

1. Apply for Financial Aid

  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at studentaid.gov. Be sure to include Pacific’s federal school code: 001329. Completing the FAFSA is free and gives you access to federal, state, and institutional financial aid to help you pay for your education at Pacific.

  • If you will attend Pacific in Spring 2025, make sure to complete the 2024-25 FAFSA or make a correction to add Pacific to your form now

  • If you plan to attend college in Fall 2025, start working on the 2025-26 FAFSA when it opens on December 1, 2024.

  • The final deadline for California high school students to be considered for the Cal Grant is March 2.

2. Review Your FAFSA Submission Summary (FSS)

Login to your dashboard to review your FSS at studentaid.gov to ensure it is accurate. If you notice any mistakes, you can make corrections.  Contact the Office of Financial Aid for guidance if needed!

3. Apply for Scholarships

  • Merit scholarships are awarded at the time of admission. Your admission offer outlines any merit scholarships you’ve been offered. These will also be reflected in your Financial Aid Offer for those who file a FAFSA.

  • Other scholarships, like the Community Involvement Program (CIP) or College Corps, require a separate application. These can be found in your admission portal.

4. Review Your Financial Aid Offer

Carefully review your offer and contact the financial aid team with any questions.

5.  Accept your student loans (optional)

  • If borrowing a student loan, you must login to view your financial aid award in my.pacific.edu and accept your student loan.

  • Parents of dependent students can consider borrowing a PLUS loan for more flexibility in paying for college costs
