A new state-of-the-art residence hall
University of the Pacific has built a new state-of-the-art residence hall for second-year students on the site of the former Southwest Hall. The new living and learning community houses nearly 400 students, and contains three suites for staff and faculty-in-residence. An interior courtyard provides space for students to socialize, relax and hold events.
This project adds a twelfth residence hall to Pacific’s Stockton Campus. The additional space is greatly needed to accommodate Pacific’s growing residential population. To combat housing shortages and spiraling rents off campus, the university guarantees four years of on-campus housing for all undergraduates while continuing to pull in record enrollment numbers.
To preserve the historic feel of campus, the new building retains many of the striking design elements of the original century-old building, and similar brick has been chosen from a local supplier.
