Softball Skills and Tactics

Take your game to the next level

Acquire new skills from our Pacific Tigers Head Coach and her team of coaches and players. Take your game to the next level and learn about hitting, pitching, catching, defense and base running. The camp will also cover overall team practice as well as the academic component of softball.

Curriculum

Students will engage in individual skill sessions as well as full team practices, intrasquads and competitions. These sessions will enhance their overall knowledge and ability to analyze today's sports world. We will also introduce some softball 101 sessions that will raise the overall learning and IQ of the younger athlete.

Planned Topics

Outside of skill sessions and on the field work, we will introduce the campers to sports psychology, strength/conditioning and film/video review. All these areas will enhance the overall experience for the camper.

Head Softball Coach

A former Women’s College World Series participant at UCLA, Sam Duran-Kukuk was named Head Coach of the Pacific softball program in July 2024. She spent the last eight years coaching softball including the last three as Associate Head Coach at Utah Valley. In 2024, she helped coach the Wolverines to 25 wins, which was the program’s most in over 10 seasons. It included a 15-10 mark in the Western Athletic Conference and a pair of wins in the WAC Tournament. Before arriving at Utah Valley, Duran-Kukuk served as Assistant Coach at Cal State East Bay. During her three seasons with the Pioneers, she worked as a hitting coach and assisted with player development, game day operations, recruiting and team community service projects.
