Care Managers are dedicated to assisting Pacific students in meeting their academic goals and overcoming educational and personal challenges. As part of the Office of the Dean of Students', Care Managers are responsible for assisting students with academic, social, emotional, personal, and professional development. Care Managers support students by playing a primary role in case assessment, student referrals, and the case management of various student issues, including personal and medical emergencies. Our goal is to empower students to find solutions to the day-to-day obstacles they may encounter at Pacific, while providing support with academic, family, health, and other challenges.

Mission Statement

In collaboration with our colleagues across campus, Care Managers provide academic and personal support to all Pacific students, enabling them to demonstrate academic excellence and meet their educational goals.

Our Services

Student Referral Services: Pacific's Student Referral Services System serves as a "hub" or central point for members of the University community to refer students in need of guidance and support. Care Managers are one of the primary recipients of these referrals, and work closely with other on-campus student support staff to ensure that referred students receive appropriate support and care. Upon referral, a staff member reaches out to the student to help them identify and access services needed to obtain their academic and personal goals. For more information on Student Referral Services, or to refer a student, please visit the Student Referral Services page.

Care Managers: Care Managers serve as one of the primary resources for managing student issues, providing intervention, and crisis prevention. We are available to assist students facing a wide range of issues including difficultly acclimating to college, need for additional resources, and assistance with navigating campus operations.  Care Managers coordinate with other Pacific departments and facilitate communication between students, faculty, and Student Life staff. Care Managers do not provide counseling or therapy; rather have the oppertunity to develop close helping relationships with students while coaching students toward appropriate self-care and self-advocacy. To meet our team or to schedule a meeting with a Care Manager, please see our Care Manager papge.

University-Level Advocacy & Support: Care Managers are committed to helping Pacific students navigate university policies and procedures. We work in conjunction with Faculty and Professional Advisors to educate students on academic policies and expectations. Often the place individuals call when they are not sure where to go, Care Managers offer guidance and advice on general university policies, and when necessary, refer questions to the appropriate academic unit.
