College of the Pacific

Welcome to the College of the Pacific, the oldest and largest academic unit of University of the Pacific. Over 1,600 students pursue studies in 18 different departments, in 31 major programs encompassing the natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and the fine and performing arts. With guidance from over 160 dedicated faculty members, College of the Pacific empowers and prepares its graduates to be leaders in their communities and citizens who make a difference in the world. 

Value of a liberal arts education

Is a liberal arts education (an education in the arts, social sciences or natural sciences) still a good value? A new study by Georgetown University shows that a liberal arts education does pay off over the course of your career.

A liberal arts education develops critical thinking, writing skills, the ability to think across disciplines and offers technical classwork and the internship experiences for students — all things employers look for.
