Dental Hygiene 

Pacific has created a distinctive accelerated Bachelor of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene for highly qualified students. In addition to clinical practice, the baccalaureate hygiene degree allows entry into many positions in teaching, research, administration, public health, private industry and other areas of hygiene practice, as well as application for entry into advanced degree programs.

For any term(s) of coursework that may not reflect your true ability, we encourage you to submit a personal statement with your application to explain your situation.

Dental Hygiene applicants must be at Junior class standing with 64 units completed by the time the program begins in January.

The Recommended minimum GPA for admission consideration is 3.0. Additionally a prerequisite GPA of 3.0 is also highly recommended.

Required Science Preparation:

  • 1 course          Principles of Biology - w/lab
  • 1 course          General Chemistry I - w/lab
  • 1 course          General Chemistry II - w/lab
  • 1 course          Human Anatomy - w/lab
  • 1 course          Human Physiology - w/lab

(If taking Anatomy and Physiology combo, both part I and II, must be completed)

  • 1 course          Microbiology

Required General Education Preparation:

  • 1 course          English (Critical Composition)
  • 1 course          Intro to Psychology
  • 1 course          Intro to Sociology
  • 1 course          Statistics
  • 1 course          Public Speaking
  • 1 course          General Ed Category: World Perspectives & Ethics
