THE EMANCIPATORY POTENTIAL OF IMAGESDr. Steven Farias discusses his research with former graduate students into the emancipatory potential of images. He will discuss their article and ongoing book project about the Chicano community's resistance to dispossession in Barrio Logan, where images simultaneously facilitate resistance and, at other times, impede successful emancipation. He will also discuss the potential for praxis-oriented applications of this research as well.Location: PSYCOMM BUILDING, ROOM 12
