Since its founding in 1994, Kilusan Pilipino has grown to become one of the largest student-run organizations on the University of the Pacific campus. KP's goals are to promote social and cultural awareness around the Filipino community by coordinating cultural and community events. We began hosting our annual benefit concert in 2013, and called it Isang P.U.S.O. (People Uniting to Serve Others). The words "isang puso" translate to "one heart" in Tagalog. The proceeds from Isang Puso go towards supporting a cause in the Filipino community. This year, all proceeds will be going to Little Manila Rising (@littlemanilastockton), a local organization based in Stockton, CA that focuses on several aspects of health and education in the local Filipino community.
