Dr. Kottler's BioDr. Ezra Kottler (they/them) got their PhD in Biological Sciences at George Washington University and joined the Biological Sciences Department at Pacific as an assistant professor in Spring 2025. Their biology research focuses on the conservation of wetland plants impacted by climate change, and they also conduct education research on the experiences of LGBTQ+ students in STEM disciplines. They came out as transgender and nonbinary in 2020, and created the Trans & Gender-nonconforming Fieldwork Alliance (TGFA) in 2022, an affinity group that builds community amongst LGBTQ+ field scientists and provides trainings to research institutions on LGBTQ+ field safety. Dr. Kottler's Bio
