Within a few months of the previous edition's publication, each Pacific Magazine begins taking shape. In the spring, a story budget is set and writers and photographers begin working on their assignments. Throughout the summer, teams assigned to the digital and print features work in tandem, designing layouts, planning interactivity, directing shoots and drafting narratives. In the fall, the digital team iterates on and perfects its designs, developing, testing and refining the features to produce groundbreaking digital experiences for Pacific Magazine Interactive.

The features in Pacific Magazine Interactive were built using Next.js, an open-source React framework for generating static websites. Page designs were prototyped and refined using Figma. Some AI tools such as Adobe Firefly and ChatGPT were used to assist in production.
