Athletics highlights biggest moments from fall 2025
Pacific Athletics delivered one of its most successful fall seasons in recent memory, adding championships, rewriting record books and establishing itself as a consistent contender across multiple sports.
The men’s water polo program led Pacific’s success, repeating as West Coast Conference regular season Champions for the second consecutive year. The Tigers finished 5-1 in conference play and 15-8 overall, capturing its fourth championship in four years.
Head Coach James Graham earned his second consecutive West Coast Conference Coach of the Year award. The Tigers also placed five players on the All-Conference teams, highlighted by first-year student Apostolos Georgaras ’29, a business administration major. Georgaras earned West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year honors after scoring 73 goals in 23 games—Pacific’s first recipient of the award since the program joined the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation in 1993.
Pacific secured its conference championship in front of a home crowd, defeating Cal Baptist 14-11 at the Douglass M. Eberhardt Aquatics Center Nov. 2. The victory marked the department’s second home title of the fall, following a dominant showing by the men’s golf team just weeks earlier.
The men’s golf team delivered one of the most impressive performances of the season at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational at The Reserve at Spanos Park. The Tigers posted a tournament score of -47, the Tigers finished 20 strokes ahead of second-place Colorado and topping a competitive 17-team field of Division I programs.
Pacific’s men’s golf team swept the podium with the top three individual finishers and captured its first home team title since 2010. The victory built on the program’s recent momentum after competing in the NCAA Tournament last spring in Urbana, Illinois.
From one course to the next, the Pacific men’s and women’s cross country teams delivered masterful performances at the Pacific Invitational Oct. 3 as the women captured first place and the men posted a runner-up finish at Micke Grove Golf Course.
Sophomore Angelina Lione ’28, a biology major, led the women's 6K race, guiding the Tigers to their first team championship in the Pacific Invitational. Under first-year Head Coach Isaac Wood, the women garnered seven runners in the top 10.
The winning momentum carried into the winter with a historic milestone in women’s basketball. Head Coach Bradley Davis became the winningest coach in program history on opening night when Pacific defeated future West Coast Conference member UC San Diego 69-66 at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
Following the win, Director of Athletics Adam Tschuor presented Davis with a game ball to commemorate his record-breaking 141st career victory. Now in his 11th season, Davis surpassed Melissa Taketa (1988–98) to claim the program record.
The men’s basketball team showed significant year-to-year improvement. The Tigers climbed to No. 81 in the initial NCAA NET Rankings released in early December, a dramatic rise from their No. 297 finish at the end of last season.
Pacific put together its longest non-conference winning streak since the 2019–20 season, winning four straight games, all by double figures, for the first time since 2002–03. The Tigers defeated Stony Brook (86-58), Jacksonville (68-53), Sacramento State (68-54) and Air Force (80-65) during the stretch.
The run included a championship at the GEICO Sunshine Slam Ocean Bracket in Daytona Beach, Florida. Senior Elias Ralph ’26, a health and exercise science major, was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player after leading Pacific past Stony Brook and Jacksonville.
