Crossing the finish line: Student-athletes celebrate commencement

Student athlete

University of the Pacific awarded degrees to more than 60 student-athletes across 15 programs during commencement ceremonies over the weekend.

“To see our student-athletes compete at a high level both on the field and in the classroom has been incredible to watch,” said Leslie Chang, senior associate athletic director for student-athlete development and compliance. “I’m excited to watch these student-athletes take on the next chapter of their lives and have no doubt they will go on to become leaders in their fields the same way they led Pacific.”

The swimming and diving team had the highest number of graduates at eight students, followed closely by beach volleyball with seven. Several other programs also saw strong graduating classes, with six student-athletes earning degrees from their 2025–26 rosters. In addition, four graduating student-athletes completed post-graduate degrees during their time at Pacific, further highlighting the department’s commitment to academic excellence and rigor.

“This senior class has meant so much to our program,” said Katelyn Harrington, swimming and diving head coach. “They’ve grown not only as athletes, but as leaders and people, and it’s been an honor to be part of their journey. I’m so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and excited for what’s ahead for each of them.”
