Homecoming and Family Weekend celebrates 175 years of Pacific
The Orange & Black Ball brings the Pacific community together for dinner and dancing to support Pacific’s student-athletes.
Three days of events, reunions, live music and Tiger pride will bring Pacificans together for University of the Pacific’s Homecoming and Family Weekend Oct. 9-11 on the Stockton Campus.
Registration is now open for the annual celebration, which will offer opportunities to reconnect with the Pacific community while celebrating the university’s 175-year history.
“We’re excited to welcome our alumni and friends home to campus, to celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime moment in Pacific’s history with us," said Scott Biedermann '05, '20, vice president for development and alumni relations. "From traditional favorites to special additions you’ll only see this year—like our 175th anniversary Taste of Pacific and a live jazz concert by the famous Brubeck brothers—the entire weekend honors our rich heritage, kindles excitement for what’s next and celebrates each individual’s place in the greater Pacific story."
Attendees are encouraged to get tickets before online registration closes and prices increase Oct. 4.

Friday, Oct. 9
The Tiger Tasting Craft Beer Fest will feature California beers selected by Pacific’s resident beer connoisseurs Chris Ferguson, vice president for enrollment management, and Dan Croxall ’08, professor of law.
Later that evening, the Orange & Black Ball returns for its 27th year with a masquerade theme. The premier event brings the Pacific community together for dinner and dancing to support Pacific’s student-athletes.
Families and students can also enjoy a movie night under the stars Friday evening with popcorn and light refreshments.

Saturday, Oct. 10
Saturday’s events offer a full day of opportunities for alumni, families and students to reconnect with Pacific.
Families of current students are invited to a breakfast with President Christopher Callahan and First Lady Jean Callahan at their home, which will include live music by student musicians and the opportunity to learn how to support their students’ success.
The president will then host the annual champagne toast for all attendees where he will share campus updates and reflect on 175 years of Pacific innovation and excellence.
During the day, guests can explore campus through a student-led walking tour or explore open house events across campus. An alumni tailgate and social will be offered, as well as an alumni pep band performance. Alumni from Pacific’s former men’s volleyball program will enjoy an extra special reunion as they celebrate the return of the men’s volleyball this year.

Saturday afternoon, the first-ever live audience recording of Pacific Conversations will feature Biedermann and Head of Special Collections Mike Wurtz for an interactive journey through Pacific’s 175-year legacy. During their conversation, held in the William Knox Holt Memorial Library, Wurtz will showcase vintage photographs, forgotten campus history and groundbreaking institutional achievements.
A favorite event returns as Taste of Pacific: The 175th Celebration, offering wine tastings, gourmet food and performances by the Alumni Band and Alumni Spirit Squad on Knoles Lawn.
Saturday evening, Pacific After Dark offers a live concert by the Brubeck Brothers—the sons of legendary jazz musician and alumnus Dave Brubeck ’42—continuing Pacific’s longstanding musical legacy.
Taste of Pacific offers wine tastings, gourmet food and performances by the Alumni Band and Alumni Spirit Squad on Knoles Lawn.
Sunday, Oct. 11
The final day of Homecoming and Family Weekend begins with the Faculty Mentor Awards brunch, honoring outstanding faculty members for their dedication to mentoring Pacific students and supporting their academic and professional development. This year’s Faculty Mentor honorees include Ben Carlston, Dan Croxall, Xiaoling Li and Jeannene Ward-Lonergan.
As the Official Higher Education Partner of the 49ers, Pacific’s Game Day Viewing Party will bring the Pacific community together to cheer on the San Francisco 49ers vs. the Seahawks.
Homecoming and Family Weekend offers Pacificans of all generations an opportunity to celebrate the university.
