For the third year in a row, University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law has been named as one of the 36 law schools for the Best Online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) Programs for 2026 by The Princeton Review. In addition to the recent acknowledgements, McGeorge also received this honor in 2022.
Clémence Kucera ‘05, Assistant Dean for the Graduate, Online, and International Programs at McGeorge said she couldn’t be happier with the news.
“It is such an honor for McGeorge to be named one of the Best Online Master of Studies in Law Programs for the third year in a row,” Kucera said. “I see the talent of our students, and I am proud to be part of that success.”
This year's list celebrates the programs that deliver exceptional legal education applicable across a wide range of professions. McGeorge stands out for combining flexibility, affordability, and real-world legal training.
Jay Martinez ‘26 is a MSL student who is studying Government Law & Policy. Martinez said he could not be happier with the legal education and policy education at McGeorge and plans to apply it in his future career.
“I was very pleased to see McGeorge School of Law being recognized in the Princeton Review,” Martinez said. “This showcases McGeorge’s commitment to a robust legal education, and in assisting minority students succeed and get into legal and legal adjacent careers.”
Numerous law schools have online Master of Studies in Law (MSL) or Master of Legal Studies (MLS) programs for non-lawyers. These programs align with careers in organizations that will directly benefit from legal training. These degrees do not require people to be practicing attorneys and don't require the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
According to Kassondra Wilbur ‘26, the education at McGeorge is “exceptionally relevant, rigorous, and truly prepares students for meaningful careers.”
“I strongly agree with the Princeton Review’s assessment of McGeorge School of Law’s MSL program,” Wilbur said. “The faculty are not only distinguished scholars and active professionals in their fields, but they also bring that depth of experience into the classroom with a genuine commitment to student success.”
In the classroom, the MSL programs go over essential legal processes including contracts, and legal analysis . McGeorge has five MSL concentrations including Business Law, Government Law and Policy, Health, Human Resources and Water and Environmental Law.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Princeton Review, McGeorge strives to deliver outstanding programs to our students as an avenue to advance their professional careers,” Katjana Wurschum ‘18, assistant director of graduate and online programs, said.
