MEDIA ADVISORY

University of the Pacific is kicking off the 2025–26 academic year with an engaging lineup of events designed to connect new and returning students to campus life and the Stockton community.

Before classes begin Monday, Aug. 25, students will take part in beloved traditions like Convocation and Tiger Roar, participate in a university-wide day of service and celebrate at the popular Tigers Prowlin’ the Mile festival. See the full calendar of events and the campus map for details. Photos from last year’s events are available to download.

Signature events include:

Wednesday, Aug. 20 | Convocation and Tiger Roar

New students will celebrate the beginning of their academic journey at Convocation starting at 10:30 a.m. inside the Alex G. Spanos Center. Immediately following Convocation—around 11 a.m.—the campus community will come together to welcome the Class of 2029 at Tiger Roar, a confetti-filled walk across campus.

Thursday, Aug. 21| Pacific Day of Service

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members will participate in a wide range of community service projects across the greater Stockton area from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will support food banks, help at senior centers and schools, beautify parks and more.

Friday, Aug. 22 | Pacific Friday Tiger Fair

The university’s largest club, resource and involvement fair gives students a chance to explore their interests and connect with other students. Dozens of booths will be set up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the DeRosa University Center Walkway.

Friday, Aug. 22 | Tigers Prowlin’ the Mile

Attendees of all ages can enjoy a Ferris wheel, live music, shopping, dining and more at the fourth annual Tigers Prowlin' the Mile—a family-friendly block party held from 6 to 9 p.m. in Stockton’s historic Miracle Mile shopping district near campus.
