Join us for an opening reception in the gallery, Thursday, August 29 from 6 - 8 p.m. This gallery event is free and open to the public.

Featuring over 90 works on paper this exhibition explores Stockton-born Valadez' fascination with text, food, and childhood memories of growing up in a bi-cultural household. Valadez explores the language of images in several different series including "Selections from the Great Mexican-American Songbook" a fictitious creation that re-centers Latinos and Mexicans in American cultural history. A professor of art at University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, Valadez recently gifted this body work to the Latin American Studies Program and University of the Pacific.
