This compelling documentary intertwines the inspiring stories of groundbreaking Black astronauts including Guion Bluford, Ed Dwight and Charles Bolden, who transcended the barriers of social injustice to pioneer new paths in space exploration.Following the screening, join Zephanii Smith Eisenstat '15 (NAACP Foundation) in conversation with SpaceX astronaut Dr. Sian Proctor, the first African-American woman to pilot a spacecraft, and Mera Burton, a former education program manager at NASA. This advanced screening and the subsequent discussion are brought to you in collaboration with National Geographic Documentary Films and NASA’s DEIA Outreach and Initiatives Office. Join us for an evening of inspiration, education and celebration of the remarkable contributions of Black astronauts to space science and beyond. America/Los_Angeles public
