Lunch & Learn: Two Spirits
Two spirit individuals have existed well before the arrival of European settlers. They were seen as gifted and honored within the Native American community because they carried two spirits: female and male. They were healers and visionaries, often looked upon for guidance. Colonization, however, created lasting and devasting effects on Two Spirits. Homophobic ideas and views ended their way of life and their once revered status, diminished. Learn more about Two Spirits with LGBTQ+ Resource Center & Native American Student Services through open discussion, Q&A, and film. Lunch will be provided.
