Pianist Orrin Evans and Pacific Jazz Ensemble
The Conservatory of Music presents Pacific Jazz Ensemble directed by Professor Patrick Langham. A big band in the tradition of Duke Ellington and Count Basie, the ensemble performs the classics and embraces the music of contemporary composers and arrangers. The program also features guest pianist Orrin Evans. A fiercely independent artist, Evans is a bandleader, composer and musical collaborator. His ensemble Captain Black Big Band has received three Grammy Award nominations.Tickets are available online or at the door 30 min before the event.Free attendance with a valid ID: all students, Pacific faculty/staff, Pacific Emeritus faculty member, Pacific OLLI members.
