The Conservatory of Music invites high school students and teachers for a one-day immersive choral experience on University of the Pacific’s campus. Students will engage in age-appropriate brain-based singing strategies enhancing their musicianship and preparing for auditions to the all-state choir. For teachers, this is a valuable professional development and networking opportunity.

What to expect

Students:

  • Prepare for All-State audition (repertoire, sight-singing, vocal techniques) 
  • Experience singing in sectionals and in a large ensemble
  • Work with Pacific’s faculty and current students
  • Sing in a culminating collaborative performance open to the public

Teachers (workshops):

  • Brain-based vocal pedagogy (Singing in the Brain
  • Efficient rehearsal strategies 
  • Adolescent voice (treble/lower voices, puberty, vocal health)
