Pacific Gives kicks off Tuesday for 24 hours of giving
Tigers everywhere will make an impact together as Pacific Gives, University of the Pacific’s annual day of giving, returns April 21-22.
For 24 hours, alumni and friends worldwide will make gifts of all sizes to the programs they care about most. Every gift will benefit Pacific students.
“Pacific Gives is more than a day of giving. It’s a community-driven movement to enrich the student experience across our three campuses,” said Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Scott Biedermann ’05, ’20. “This is an opportunity to celebrate—in a tangible way—the people who inspire you, the experiences that shaped you, and your hopes and dreams for a new generation of Tigers.”
In 2025, Pacific Gives donors made nearly 6,300 gifts totaling more than $2.6 million. Those gifts strengthened academic and athletic programs, scholarships, student services and more.
This year, participants can leverage more than 70 matches and challenges benefiting over 200 different areas across the university.
One opportunity benefits the Pacific Student Emergency Fund, which helps students manage unforeseen expenses. Gifts will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $35,000.
The university’s Board of Regents will offer a 2:1 match for up to $40,000 in gifts to Pacific Global - Study Abroad. Gifts will help students overcome financial barriers to participate in life-changing global learning.
"Who I was before going abroad and after is so different,” said Kyla Maxwell ’26. “I’ve always been independent, but now, I feel prepared to go out into the real world, live on my own, get a job, support myself, and just tackle life."
Closer to home, alumni and friends can support numerous participating student groups this year, including College Corps, The Pacifican, Pacific Forensics, The Lāhui, the Pacific Solar Car Project and more.
Pacific Gives also impacts students in the classroom, with giving opportunities across all nine schools and colleges. Each offers its own matches and challenges.
First-time donors to McGeorge School of Law will have their gifts matched dollar for dollar, while 50 donors to the McGeorge Double Tiger Endowed Scholarship will unlock an additional $10,000. The scholarship supports law students who earned prior degrees at Pacific.
The Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and School of Health Sciences will match scholarship gifts for future practitioners, while the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy invites PharmD and PhD alumni and students to a friendly competition. The group with the most donors will unlock a $250,000 gift to the school from double Tiger See-Yan Lam ’76, ’84.
Tiger fans can support Pacific Athletics through 18 sports programs, Pacific Cheer and Dance or the Pacific Athletic Band. The PAF Impact Fund—addressing tangible needs across all sports—and the Christopher J. Pond Athletic Training Scholarship also are getting in the game.
"Pacific Gives is essential to our program. These gifts allow us to recruit elite players, travel to compete against top teams, access state-of-the-art technology to maximize performance and pursue West Coast Conference Championships,” said Head Women’s Soccer Coach Jeff Freeman.
“We are incredibly grateful to be part of the Pacific community. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact, and we deeply appreciate the continued support for our program and our student-athletes."
All Tigers can sign on as Pacific Gives Ambassadors to spread the word and encourage their networks to participate. Last year, 433 ambassadors generated more than $500,000 for their favorite funds.
