At University of the Pacific, we believe that scholarships are not just about financial aid; they are how we invest in the next generation of leaders, innovators, and change makers.  As a student in the Physician Assistant program, you'll have access to several scholarships and funding opportunities to help finance your degree. 

Dean’s Resilience Endowed Scholarship

The Dean’s Resilience Endowed Scholarship awards $2,000 to support a student from our diverse regional community who has demonstrated perseverance in overcoming significant challenges to pursue higher education. This award recognizes resilience and dedication by assisting students from the Central Valley or Northern California who show academic excellence, financial need, and a commitment to advancing the field of occupational therapy. Preference is given to students from historically underrepresented groups within the profession and/or their geographic area. 

Eligible applicants must be enrolled in the School of Health Sciences during the fall trimester.

Mark and Sheila Christiansen Endowed Founding Director Scholarship

The founding program director endowed a scholarship to assist students with extra-university expenses (excluding tuition and fees) for attending PA school. The scholarship is for students from a small town (<100,000) with good academic standing. Students must have completed a current FAFSA application to be eligible.

Preference for student(s) who demonstrate the following:
a. Rural primary care (exposure to, experience with, or desire to practice in)
b. Demonstrated commitment to leadership and/or mentorship in the PA profession

Chang Family Endowed Scholarship

The scholarship is to support physician assistant student(s) in good academic standing. Students must have completed a current FAFSA application to be eligible.

Preference for student(s) who demonstrate the following:
a. Personal connection to Internal Medicine, Bay Area, or a pharmacist
b. Overcome academic adversity
c. Demonstrated perseverance to overcome adversity while enrolled

2025 HealthForce Partners Scholarship recipients
HealthForce Partners

This scholarship was established by HealthForce Partners to help recruit and retain master's and doctoral students from San Joaquin County enrolled in the School of Health Sciences who are pursuing training, education, and licensure in fields that work with stroke patients, including physician assistant, speech-language pathology, and physical therapy.

Hearst Foundation Scholarship for Physician Assistant

A use-year scholarship (26-27, 27-28) for students from the Central Valley with disadvantaged backgrounds or those who plan to pursue a career in those counties. Students must have completed a current FAFSA application to be eligible.

Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible:
a. Positive personal HRSA factors verified by CASPA application
b. From, or plan to work in, the HPSA area in California's Central Valley
