How You Can Help PROMISE Scholars

You can make a difference for these outstanding young people as you partner with the Pacific PROMISE Scholars Program in helping them achieve their dreams and embark on a life of purpose.

These students come with few of the resources they need to achieve their academic and personal goals while studying at Pacific. Foster youth and temporarily homeless students frequently need assistance in successfully transitioning to college life. They are often unfamiliar with higher education and do not have the emotional and financial support of family as do their traditional peers.

Join the Support Network

The Pacific PROMISE Scholars Planning Committee is comprised of volunteers from community organizations and Pacific staff who serve as program advisers and work to support former foster and homeless youth at Pacific. These volunteers help in many ways, from making donations and supporting custom graduation medallions to developing a mentoring program.

Make a Gift

A gift of any size will help sponsor the PROMISE Scholars Program's services and initiatives that will help these students toward academic and personal success.

Here are just a few examples:

  • Finals care package (school supplies, food and giftcards supplied at the end of each semester)
  • College starter kit (provided at the beginning of each academic year)
  • Educational and networking opportunities
  • Summer bridge program to help with the transition to college life
  • Books and supplies for the school year
  • Scholarships to help defray tuition and/or housing expense
