Meet the Staff

Ryan Griffith

Director

Ryan Griffith has worked in international education since 1997.  During his career, he has overseen international student recruitment and admissions; international student and scholar services; intensive English programming; satellite international campuses; and, taught courses in Asian Studies, International Relations Theory, and English as a Second Language. He earned a BA in International Relations from University of Southern California and an MA in International Relations and Asian Politics from University of Queensland, Australia.

Derek Bradley

Assistant Director of Education Abroad

Derek Bradley joined the Pacific team in 2018 after nine years as Regional Director with ISEP.  Prior to ISEP, he lived in China for five years, teaching at Beijing Language and Culture University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Anhui Normal University.  He has a B.S. in Business/Communications from Grove City College, and an M.A. in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College.

Derek is responsible for sending Pacific students abroad.

Carmen Huntar

International Student and Scholar Advisor

Carmen Huntar developed and directed the Educational Services Counseling Center at the United States Embassy in Nigeria where she worked for 15 years. She successfully recruited foreign students and scholars and developed programs to ensure their retention and graduation from institutions in the United States. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley and studied at New York's Columbia University as part of her U.S.-based training for International Advisors sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

As an International Student and Scholar Advisor, Carmen is responsible for advising international students and scholars on immigration issues as well as maintaining immigration records.

Motoko Day

International Student and Scholar Advisor

Motoko Day is originally from Tokyo, Japan.  She came to the U.S. when she was 18 as a high school exchange student and lived in Hampton, Virginia for a year.  This life changing experience drew her to the field of international education.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the University of Vermont and a Master's degree in Intercultural Relations from Lesley University in Boston.  Motoko worked at various organizations and universities including the Japan Foundation for Intercultural Exchange, UC Berkeley Extension, CSU East Bay, the University of San Francisco, and Intrax prior to joining IPS in June 2019.   Motoko enjoys meeting people from around the world, trying new foods, traveling, and playing the piano. 

As an International Student and Scholar Advisor, Motoko is responsible for advising international students and scholars on immigration issues as well as maintaining immigration records.
