Trial Advocacy Conference
Trial Advocacy Conference
08:00 a.m. - 06:00 p.m.
Join us for a two-day Trial Advocacy Conference held at University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law led by members of the judiciary, focused on building practical courtroom skills. With separate tracks for civil, criminal, and probate/family practice — and sessions designed for both jury and bench trial settings — participants will explore pre-trial strategy, voir dire, evidence presentation, and persuasive case theory. The conference is co-hosted by the Sacramento County Bar Association.
The program covers opening statements, direct and cross-examination, objections, and closing arguments. The conference concludes with a full mock trial featuring live feedback from judicial officers. Whether you’re new to litigation or looking to deepen your skills, this conference offers structured, practice-oriented instruction from experienced judges.
Speakers include: Hon. Lauri Damrell, Hon. Carlton Davis, Hon. Jonathan Hayes, Justice Elena Duarte, Hon. Julie Weng-Gutierrez, Hon. Curtis Fiorini, Hon. Jaya Badiga, & Hon. Russell Hom (Ret.)
